United States President has replied to Prime Minister that. from United Etotes etandpoint, there is no objection to surrender of Hong Kong being accepted by a British officer provided that full military co-ordination is effected beforehand by Britain with Generalissimo Chiang Kai-snek on operational matter: Generul MacArthur will be instructed to arrange for surrender of Hong kong to British Commander whenever such Co-ordination is effected, United States Secretary of State has informed ur. .V. Prime Minister has replied that he is arranging for instructions to be given to British Service authorities accordingly and that His Majesty's Ambassador Chungking is being instructed to inform Chiang Kai-shek that this is being done.
